Clan System
http://forums.ijji.com/showthread.php?t=662928
This is a GM posting about the clan system and asking for suggestions. There's a chart over there that I couldn't copy over.
Hey everyone!
I'm going to be giving you all a little sneak preview of what the clan system will be like in A.V.A.. No other version of A.V.A. has this Clan System, so we are pretty excited about it. We are determined to support and nurture the very competitive nature of this game and Clan Tournaments will be a very integral part of that, so its important we do this right. We really want to hear what you guys think about this Clan System so any recommendations or suggestions you may have we will definitely pay close attention to.
A.V.A. Clan System
The A.V.A. clan system is going to be similar in many ways to clan systems in other FPS games you've played. You will have a clan and you will compete against other clans to earn points. In a lot of FPS games, the clan system usually ends there. You scrim, you get points, clans with the most points are the highest ranked.
There's a bit more to it than that in A.V.A. When you first start your clan it will be considered a "Squad". A Squad requires that you have 5 members in your clan, but you cannot have more than 12. However, after acquiring a certain amount of clan points you can upgrade your "Squad" to a "Platoon". Each clan rank has a minimum # of members required, as well as a maximum # of members allowed, as well as other various perks/bonuses that become available at each rank. More information regarding perks/bonuses will become available in the future.
Here is a little breakdown of how the progression will work. Please keep in mind that this is a very early iteration of this and this is subject to change. This is just to give you guys an idea of what the system will be like.
(actual perks/requirements may differ when we open the service, this is just filler until we finalize all the requirements/perks/bonuses etc.)
Thats about as much information I have on that right now. So what do you guys think? Thoughts? Concerns? Suggestions? Lets hear it! This is your game, tell us what you wanna see.
The first clan rank is a Squad which needs a minimum of 5 members and max of 12 members. So this mean that someone might be left out until we get to the next rank.

Re: Clan System
Seems like to have the best incentives, you have to have over 9000 members.

Re: Clan System
One guy did bring up a good point. About that you got incentives for gaining points but nothing to keep a good clan score. So basically there would be clans farming experience for the rewards.n3wb5un173d wrote:Very nice, incentive to be active and in a clan, I like it.
/facepalm.
I completely go against this. Obviously, this is a great way to get people to become competitive, and that's great! But I think we're steering people to the WRONG competitive aspect. People should be wanting to WIN and not gather points just to get extra perquisites. I'm sure you are very aware of MSFC in Soldier Front. Honestly, out of all the games in IJJI, i think Gunz has the best clan system. When you win, you gain points, but when you lose, you lose points. And i guess ill explain why it is the most effective way to gain points.
First off, clans like MSFC cannot and should not dominate the game, but the skilled teams should dominate the game. This is very important in a competitive community. Those who are the most skilled should get the most fame. Not clans like MSFC who just gather points by playing.
Now, look at all the Gunz tournaments. The clans with higher monthly rankings reflect the top tournament teams. The teams on the monthly rankings actually reflect their skill level. This has been proved plenty of times in the seasonal tournaments Gunz holds. Rin’negan, currently number 1, did fairly well in the summer tournament i believe. I dont know where they placed, but yea.
And now look at SF, which has a similar clan system as AVA. This point system shows no skill at all. MSFC is definitely not the most skilled in SF and that has been proved plenty of times.
Another Gunz clan system aspect draws me in: clan point resets. Resetting the overall rankings after every month will help new and more skilled clans reach the top. Once again, if skilled clans play for a year and die, they dont deserve that top spot anymore. New teams will rise and those teams deserve EQUAL chance of becoming first.
If this clan system pursues, this game will go no where on the competitive aspect. And when i say competitive, i mean competitive in skill level. I guess i emphasize on skill too much, but this is what i believe and this is what i am going to stick to.
my 2 cents. bye.

Re: Clan System
I don't mind if I'm not pick first in the clan, we should recruit the newer players first and the loyal eXpired clan members can play with the clan until they rank to platoon. That just my opinion though, some players want to get in the clan and start competing (not really since it just came out) for points.

grem copied and pasted someone else's comment, and the gm made points later on the topic that also work to promote this idea.
